School students are invited to chat with Dr Paddy Kavanagh (Dublin Institute of Advanced Studies), Irish Astrophysics researcher working with the newest space telescope JWST, scheduled for launch on 22nd December 2021. Paddy will describe how this new, state of the art telescope will work, how we will get it to space, and what we hope to use it to study.

Ideal for Transition Year and Senior Cycle (5th a & 6th Year) students, in this interactive online event we will explore the future of telescopes with the JWST and discuss what this means for our understanding of the Universe.

This FREE event will be run online via Zoom and will be recorded. It is a participatory talk with interaction throughout and includes an opportunity for all attendees to participate in a Q&A session with Dr Paddy Kavanagh, moderated by our I-LOFAR Education and Public Engagement Manager, Áine Flood.
