Primary Science
Bringing together activities which give students a chance to practice a range of skills while exploring the wonders of space, we have developed a series of activities for senior primary classes about all things lunar. Get to grips with the Moon’s surface of craters, mountains and regolith, wonder at the expanse of the Universe with sizes and scales, and plan for a mission to the Moon! Building on suitable resources available from ESA through the European Space Education Resource Office (ESERO Ireland) and methodologies from the SFI Discover Primary Science and Maths frameworks we have developed a series of tried and tested Moon themed activities and class workshops which can be run as a complimentary series or stand alone in-class activities. With a rich history of Astronomy in Ireland as well as cutting edge current research it is a great opportunity to instill a sense of wonder about things beyond Earth at a naturally inquisitive age.
