Astro Camps with I-LOFAR

A key aim of our AstroLands programme is to engage young people with astronomy and space science, and highlight the wide range of opportunities open to them here in Ireland and further afield. What better way than with a camp dedicated to all things space?!

We began to run online virtual Astro Camps in 2020 and due to the overwhelming success we are continuing to do so in 2021. The AstroLands Team are busy developing a brand new Astro Camp programme for Summer 2021 with virtual tours of observatories and space-related locations, interactive, hands on activities to get to grips with astrophysics concepts and space exploration, all paired with chatting to some of our amazing friends and colleagues who work in astro-related research areas – from astrophysics and astrobiology, to rocket ship engineering and more!

With a range of Astro Camps tailored for different ages from 10 to 15 years, and our AstroLands Academy specially designed for 16 to 18 years, this gives young people a unique opportunity to talk with researchers, academics, and industry professionals to get a sense of what is involved in studying and working in astrophysics and space related areas, as well a s the huge variety iof options!

Find out more about previous Astro Camps and register for our upcoming Astro Camps for Summer 2021 below!

These Astro Camps are made possible thanks to support from the Science Foundation Ireland Discover Programme and ESERO Ireland.
